Step 00 · the drawing

Ariā is the shape of a thing before the thing exists.

That is the whole job. I work out what your business actually needs, draw it so you can see it, then build it. Lately, most of that work is finding where software can quietly take a job off your hands.

Wellington. One person, start to finish. You deal with me, not an account manager.

Your week is doing two different jobs at once.

One is the reason the business exists. You quoting a tricky job. You reading a room. You deciding what to say yes to. Nobody can take that off you, and nobody should try.

The other is the reason you are still at the kitchen table at nine o'clock. The same email for the fourth time, the same fields typed into the same form, the follow-up that should have gone out on Tuesday.

Before anyone sells you software, somebody has to separate the two. That thinking is part of every job I take on. It is not something you must buy first.

Stays with you

The reason clients pay you
  • 01 Judgement on a hard job
  • 02 The relationship
  • 03 Pricing the exception
  • 04 Deciding what to decline

Can be routed away

Where integration actually applies
  • Enquiry intake and triage
  • Quote follow-up that never goes out
  • Re-typing the same details twice
  • First drafts of routine documents
02

Most of what gets sold as AI would not survive a week in your business.

The useful version is narrow and boring. It picks up one repeated task, does it the same way every time, and hands anything unusual straight back to you. It does not make decisions you would want to make yourself, and it does not go near a client without you seeing it first.

The version that fails is bolted on because it was available. It produces work nobody checks, quietly gets something wrong, and costs more trust than it ever saved in hours.

Sometimes the honest answer is that your business does not need any of it yet. If that is what I find, that is what I will tell you before you spend money on it.

03

Come in wherever you actually are.

Lately, the first question worth answering is simpler than any of these: can an AI assistant find you at all. If someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity who does what you do in Wellington, I can tell you honestly whether you get named, whether the details are right, and why.

Beyond that, if you know what you want built, say so and we will build it. A website, an integration, or a piece of software is a perfectly good place to start. The thinking happens either way because I cannot do the work properly without it.

An audit is for when the diagnosis is the thing you want. It is a real product, not a gate. Paying for it means I owe you an honest finding rather than a sale. If you go on to build with me, the fee comes off the build.

Then the drawing becomes the thing.

Two businesses, two different problems, both thought through before a line was written. These are live sites you can open now.

You are hiring a person, so here he is.

I came out of senior policy and strategy, which is a long way of saying I was paid for years to work out what a problem actually was before anyone spent money on it. Aria Studio is that habit applied to small businesses, with the build attached.

There is nobody else here. The person who scopes your work is the person who writes it and the person who picks up the phone in eighteen months.

“Tim doesn't just build websites, he builds what your business actually needs.”

“Before a single design was drafted, Tim took the time to sit down with me, learn what my business actually does, and ask the kind of thoughtful questions that helped me focus on what the website needed to achieve, not just what I thought I wanted. That process alone was invaluable.”
